Ana Maria Cristina Polo Gonzalez was born in the city of Havana, Cuba. Her family moved to Miami at 2 years old. The actress was raised in Havana Cuba Ana moved to Miami when she was just 2 years old accompanied by her family. Ana Maria Polo from Habana is the host and producer for Telemundo's "Caso Cerrado", one of the most watched Spanish-language programs that the channel airs. It was a finalist for one of the Daytime Entertainment Emmy for Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards in 2015. In 2015 it ranked at the top in all key demos. Polo was born on the 11th of April, 1959, in Havana, Cuba and went on to study at Florida International University, where she graduated with a degree in politics and sciences. Then she obtained her PhD in law at the University of Miami and practiced law for twenty years within the City of Miami. Following her PhD at the University of Miami she practiced law in Miami for over 20 years. Polo's legal knowledge was used in court shows as well as Telemundo Sala de Parejas 2001 in addition to the show Sala de Parejas. Literature Works and Accolades 1958 novel Los Hijos Muertos won her both the Critic Prize and Spanish National Prize for Literature. Ana Maria Matute emigrated to the United States after leaving Spain in 1960. A breast cancer survivor, Polo often speaks, and has a tendency to raise funds to support the causes. Polo has been a vocal advocate for LGBT rights all throughout her life. She has been a Florida Bar-member since 1987 and graduated in law at the University of Miami School of Law.
