Meanwhile, Harden's stage credits include the famous Broadway productions "Angels in America" and "God of Carnage.. Marcia Gay Harden, born 14 August 1959 in San Diego, California, was the daughter of Beverly who was a housewife, and Thad the US Navy officer. She is the mother to a brother, and three sisters. Family members often relocated due to her father's occupation as a diplomat. This meant that they were scattered across the world , including countries such as Germany, Japan, and Greece. After settling in Maryland, Harden went to Surrattsville High School in Clinton. In 1980, she attended the University of Texas at Austin and received a bachelor's degree in acting. Harden was accepted into NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in 1988 to complete her MFA.
